Rory Lately...

It's been awhile since I've updated you on Rory's Life.

Lately, Rory has been spending her days and Granny and Grampy's house.

She receives a million belly rubs and cuddles a day.

She spends her time divided between guarding the front yard and back yard.

When she's finished with her daily guarding duties,
she spends her time amongst the giant sunflowers :)

Rory's New Haircut Inspiration?

How AMAZING is this hair cut?!?!

Possible fur-spiration for Miss Ror?

I love it, like I love fresh blueberries on a hot summer's day.

If at all possible I will try this with Rory one day...

It's her winter hobo look.

She will soon be trimmed down.

For now, we are enjoying her full figured fur-ness  ;)

Ror's Halloween

Happy Halloween from Ror :)

The dragon is on the loose!

We may be able to catch her...

Oh... Oh... She's starting to stir...

She's trashing her tail at us. Run! Run!

It seems like she's sleepy, this is our chance!

And... We caught her. Hip-Hip-Hurrah!

The elusive Dragon has been captured and contained :)

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall...

This summer has honestly gone by so quickly.

Not having any classes has really given
me such a freedom, I can't even believe.

As the summer comes to a close,
so does my daily posts...

I shall be moving to posting only on Mondays.

Wish me luck on my last two courses in becoming
a full fledged accountant.
My school mantra is...
"Only 2 more... Only 2 more..."

I find that the last year of any program is the hardest.
I felt the exact same way with Art History.

If there are any students reading this and are thinking to drop your current major in
search of something new and exciting. Don't do it.
It's just the final semester jitters.
It's normal. Stick to it. You can do it.
I believe in you.

Sleepy winter days await us.
Man, do I love sleep.

P.s. So does Rory :)
A dogs life, eh...

Rory Lately...

Ror Eats Carrots!

Ror gets the baby carrots that I accidently
pull out of the garden.

Man oh man, does she love these :)

Ror: I. Stalk. Carrot. From. Afar...

Ror: Carrot baby, I own you!

Ror: nom nom nom... carrot prey, you are mine.

Ror: More please? Oh, you mean that carrot is for me?

Ror: seconds, thirds, and fourths? Thanks Friendo!

Rory Does Not Like to Travel

The above picture is of stressed out Ror. She hates boats, canoes, ferries, being carried, and cars.
Here she is on her way to the ferries to see her most favourite person in the world. Oh the stress to get those coveted cuddles from grandma... :)

Rory Lately...

(Ror in TheDapperGentleman's arms)

Rory had a haircut. Now she looks like a Lion/Fox hybrid.
I've discovered that it's best for the groomers to shave her body,
but for me to style her face fur. That way I can optimize her cuteness.

This furry fox has been following me around
waiting patiently for me to drop carrots, cucumbers, and peas.

Little Ror and her cucumber.
It's adorable how gentle she is as she takes
treats out of my hands.

Ror taking her cucumber to her bed so she can be
comfortable as she devours her treat.

Ror: Yes more please :) These are da best!

Rory Lately...

This is Ror and her Bestie. They've been friends ever since puppydom. They have legendary make out sessions, fight like sisters, and cuddle during their day time naps.

Their love isn't large enough to share dog bones though... They must each have their own :)

Dog Chronicles: AnnaBelle Style

ror's friend annabelle is over for the next couple of days while her parents are enjoying the beautiful rays of Hawaii.

this dog is stealthy. here's an example:

annabelle was looking especially cute so I took her picture...
literally less than a second later I look up from the camera and she stealthily
repositioned herself here:

at the time it truly felt like she had magical powers...

Rory's Birthday Continued...

well, hello there. i hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
ror asked me to share some of her birthday pictures and thoughts with you.

above is a picture of her gifts. two antlers, 2 alligator potato chews, and a new treat toy.
p.s. her treat toy is so difficult that most of the original treats are still inside

ror: hey guys,  this new antler is ah-maz-ing *wink *wink

ror: mmMMmm, I am taunting you antler...
you think i only want to smell you, but i actually am going to devour you. muah haaa haaa

ror: (singing) alligator chew, alligator chew
you are in my mouth, tasting sooo ohhh good.
bed is so comfy, chew is so tasty.
i is a princess... laa laa laa

Disclaimer: no, rory isn't in a prison. we crate trained her as a puppy and she loved it so much that we never graduated her out of it. she knows that when she's in trouble her only safe space is her create because we will never reach in and grab her. we think it's important that she has one place in the house that she can feel completely safe in.

Rory's Birthday?

I'm not sure the exact date, but sometime in the middle of June is Ror's Birthday.

I usually just treat June as her birthday month. She gets extra belly rubs, wet dog food, and one extra treat per day.

Happy Birthmonth lovely puppy. Love you forever, even when you chew up tissues on my bed pillow ;)

Here's to six more lovely years with you

The first time you cuddled me on your own, oh sweet memories

The first time we cut your hair short (last year...)
I love how she looked like a puppy again.

Rory Lately...

(Ror's new cat friend)

The first half of Ror's life is a bit of a mystery. We adopted her from this lady who rescues dogs who have been abandoned. The dog rescue lady told us that Ror was the only dog to survive in her litter. Her first owners thought that she was diseased and abandoned her at a vets office. This lovely lady took Ror in and helped to find her a loving home...

Cut to. Present day. We believe that it was in this vets office that Ror cohabited with cats, and learned their native ways.

Sometimes Ror acts just like a cat... Ror doesn't like water, she licks her front paws to clean her face, and she uses her paws just like cats do when they play. Whenever Ror sees a cat, she must go up and say hi and play. These cats however are a little afraid of Ror's zeal.

However, a couple of weeks ago Ror made a cat friend :)

Gnomes... Ror's Worst Enemy

Fun Fact: Rory's Scared of Gnomes

Ror used to jump on to the kitchen table. To deter this we set up a gnome and measuring tape barricade. Since then, I've rearranged my furniture to limit her access points and these gnomes have been moved outside.

How awesome is it that she's scared of gnomes and measuring tape though! When we first moved into our condo it was a nightmare for her. We were measuring everything and she would go hide in the closet ;)

Thank you Gnome Brothers for saving my Mid Century Teak Dinning Table. I will forever be in your debt.

Don't Trust a Little White Dog...

This was an exciting weekend. I got another apple tree for the first apple tree to have a pollination friend. I whispered to me he wanted his name to be Bob. And......

Ror failed to do her job and robbers came on to my balcony and stole my gardening rain boots and back up rain boots. Note to self, don't trust Ror to protect me during the night time from robbers.

I did find it odd that someone would come on to my balcony to take old shoes, but alas, to each their own. I will not judge the thieves for taking what they needed.

As the story unfolded over the weekend, here are the event:

Friday Afternoon: I use my Tretorn Black boots for the final time (not knowing that this will be our goodbye forever)

Saturday Morning: I walk on to my balcony looking for my rain boots to start my morning ritual of watering my garden. However, I can't find my boots. I turn to the left to grab the spare blue boots (which are not as comfortable). They are missing too... I tare my balcony apart thinking 'maybe a large gust of wind may have been so specific to only blow away rain boots.' I still can't find them. I ask my husband, "did you move my boots?" His response, "Huh, what? No..." I conclude, "Robbers came in the night time and stole only two pairs of boot!?!??"

Saturday Afternoon: I email all the appropriate building people to alert them of this boarder line hilarious theft. I created a container garden barrier to my balcony so that if someone were to try and repeat this act, they would be tripped up by hoses and pots. Most important, I have a sit down convo with the dog, letting her know how disappointed I am with her that she barks at Everything, yet not at robbers... Not cool Ror, not cool...

Sunday Afternoon: Receive an email that my lovely neighbour actually saw what happened. On Saturday morning at 5:30am there was a woman (who was the lookout) and a man (the active thief) going on to my balcony and stealing my boots.

Dear Early Morning Robbers,

Robbers, 5:30am is very early. If you needed to have rain boots that badly that you purposely woke up to steal them... I understand. The black ones you stole are actually very nice, I hope you love them as much as I do. However, the blue ones... They suck and hurt if you want to walk in them. I would just throw them out if I were you. I should have, but I guess the universe subconsciously wanted you to have them them.

Please don't return. I've set up a webcam security system to video tape you if you do.

Thanks for the visit, hope you enjoyed my garden while you were here.

Sincerely,

Beesinthegardens

Rory Lately...

Rory plays cards.

Uno to be exact. Surprising she's actually really good. She wins 1 out of every 3 games.

Here's how we play.

I hold up a card, and if she licks it she wants to play it. Sometimes when she's paying less attention I have say, "If you wag your tail, that means you and to play this card."

Action Shots:

Ror calls "Uno"

"I'm so over winning" as said in a gloating manner
