Berry Harvest!

Where has this summer gone?

I can't believe that we are in the middle of August already!

As the summer comes to an end, 

this may be one of my last berry harvests.

This season has been extra delightful.

As all my berry bushes mature, 

they produce more and more fruit.

I'm loving this summer so much. 

I don't want it to end!

Refreshing chocolate mint water with cucumber

There is nothing better than refreshing minty water on a hot summer's day.

It's also a great way to use the mint that is probably growing like crazy right now :)

I like Chocolate Mint, but you can use almost anything you are growing, it's all delicious!

Cut 5-10 sprigs of mint from your garden. 

You can also use basil, rosemary, and lemon balm.

Crush the mint. You can do this in your hands or

with a honey comb. Crushing the mint releases the flavours.

Peel and chop a quarter of a cucumber. 

I like to make cute little designs to add a little pizazz  ;)

In a jug add in the mint and cucumber.

in Fort Langley :)

and... voila... 

Delicious water infused with refreshing mint and cucumber. 

You can keep this in the fridge and continually add more water for 3 days. 

P.S. If you like lemon, only add 1 slice. 

The lemon can over power the minty freshness

and other flavours in the water.

Weekend Day One:

Globe Carrots, so delicious!

Garden Tip: When peeling small carrots, 

leave the green part on to use as a grip. This makes it so much easier!

This makes it look like little carrot homes 

for tiny fairies or gnomes

ahh ahh, a tsunami of peas has take over the town

Basil Mint

Last year I discovered Chocolate Mint, this year I've discovered Basil Mint. It's amazing!

Great for flavouring water, mojitos, gin and tonics...

I cut up some lemons, chocolate mint, and basil mint to freshen my house and have been loving it! Put the mixture in a bowl and let it dry over the next couple of days.

I read somewhere once that cut up lemons in your home are suppose to suck out bad spirits and energy. Not sure if this is true or not, but I believe in magic so I choose to believe this is true too ;)
