Organized Obsessed

As you may have already known...
I'm organized obsessed!

My obsession has now taken over TheLittleBear's snacks.

I line them up in rows...
And I even reorganize the snacks as they get disorderly as she eats them :)

A Running Joke

A few years ago TheDapperGentleman and I were joking around about us opening a store for organizational products because I love organizing so much. Nothing brings me more joy than someone asking me over to their house to help them organize something. I love it!!!!!!

I love love love starting a new job and being able to organize everything. File folders... label makers... file folder tabs... binders... creating folders, sub folders, and labelling data files... mmMMmm sounds like heaven...

So, back to the running joke.

I said that the store should be called Organization Organization. The first organization being the act of organizing and the second organization referencing a company/or group of people. Then TheDapperGentleman said, "Ba-Zinga! Organization squared!" But I countered saying that it wouldn't make sense because if organization was a number value it would be one and one squared is only one. So the essence of that would just be one organization... (you may insert math dork joke here ;))

Then I joked that when we answered the phone we would have to answer it, "Organization squared, if organization equals to a value greater than one. How can we help with your organizational needs today?"

Now this joke comes up any time we even think of organizing anything, and I laugh every time :)

How to Get Stuff Done

Now that I have a baby I find that trying to get stuff done around the house is a difficult task.

A cluttered house with stuff every stresses me out. I need to have my bed made, kitchen table and countertop cleared of unnecessary clutter. Otherwise I can't relax.

I used to have this rule that when I was in final exam mode, TheDapperGentleman and I both had to work extra hard to keep the kitchen tidy because that was my studying area. When you live in 625 sqft you don't have the luxury of having a dedicated desk or office for studying. Each space must be multi purposed.

My new trick to getting stuff done is to set goals for the day. When TheLittleBear was only a couple of months old these goals were small. Usually they would be filing down TLB's nails, or combing out her cradle cap.

A couple of months ago I went through a "we have too many books" moment and went through our 3 book cases to removed 30+ books. These books sat in my hallway for 3 or 4 months. I kept procrastinating because every weekend was rainy, and I didn't want to sell and donate books in the rain. Finally, I gave myself the weekend goal of selling these books rain or shine. It totally worked out because I made $84.75 from my old books.

Setting goals and mentally crossing them off when finished feels amazing.

I hope this helps you :)

Planning you Garden: Organization and Minimization

The second step in planning my garden is organizing my seeds and tools. This way I can see what I have and what I need. I'm relatively new at gardening so I don't have a plethora of gardening tools. My method of not breaking the bank, is to slowly accumulate the things I need.

Last year it was gardening sheers and a straw broom. This year it's a shovel! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to get a shovel. I've been using the tiny ones for potting for 2 years.

I know it's insane to not buy a shovel when you need one, but gardening can become extremely expensive. I also have a motto of one in one out. If I buy a new sweater, I must give away a sweater. It goes for everything in my house. It's hard sometimes to make the tough decisions of what to give away, but this way my house isn't busting at the seams. The only exception I have is if I'm buying something I don't already have.

Here is my gardening box of things needed to be kept indoors

Guess which one holds the gardening tools :)

These other boxes hold a bike helmet, and regular tools.

Ta Da.... Seeds, Seaweed Fertilizer, Mesh for garden fencing and to keep away birds from the blueberries, Twine to secure things, and Sheers.
